My Confidence Is In Jesus Christ

LUSWATA DRAKE MOSES

One of the things which I will never regret in my life is accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Understanding Him and walking with Him has profited my spiritual life, not only for myself but also for my family, too. In 2002 I left Adventism, and since then, as I have continued my journey with the Lord by studying His word, more and more truth is becoming clear, and my confidence and trust in Jesus Christ is growing stronger.

Hebrews 4:14-16 is one of the Scripture passages I love which promises us one of the benefits of the finished work of God through Jesus the Christ:

Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us live our lives consistent with our confession of faith. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses. Instead, we have one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet he never sinned. So let us keep on coming boldly to the throne of grace, so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Jesus is our High Priest who understands us. He knows how weak we are. He came and put on the flesh, and the devil tried to make him do all kinds of wrong things, but in Him there was no sin, and He never did anything wrong Himself. So, Jesus understands this flesh and what it’s capable of doing. This Jesus is the one who became our High Priest, and right now He is in heaven on our behalf. Because He has gone into the presence of the Father, we have no fear because He is our peace. Through His priestly role He reconciled us to God, and now we have peace with God.

Because He has gone into the presence of the Father, we have no fear because He is our peace.

He fought Satan, and He conquered him. He overcame sin and death, and the separation of man from his Creator was solved by reconciliation which was perfected in Jesus’ body.

With this knowledge, we come to our heavenly Father boldly, with confidence, because we have peace with Him, and we are no longer slaves but children. When we get to know who we are in Christ, when we realize the direct and indirect benefits which we received through faith in Jesus Christ not by our own working but by the working of God, then we realize that we have access to the throne of grace.

We are never alone in our time of need. †
