Lack Of Discernment Confirmed
At 11:38 in the Former Adventist Fact Check video “Adventism Equates Law with God”, this person confirms the lack of discernment and understanding of the Scriptures. She has no idea why the human race is this predicament nor what it took to correct it. Also, she has no idea of the conflict between Christ and Satan before the latter was kicked out of Heaven. She is doing to others what she did to her own family: namely, dragging all those who are willing to lend an ear to the weak and diluted things about the Scriptures she is attempting to teach. So Christ didnt have to prove anything, huh?

Some questions for you: What did Christ have to prove, and to whom did He have to prove those things? Where does Scripture tell us these things? Where does the Bible tell us that Satan and Christ had a conflict in heaven? Why is the human race “in this predicament”? What did it require to correct this predicament? What are your Scriptural references to show me your conclusions? Whatever you believe must be supported by clear, direct biblical proof. If you do not have clear, direct proof for all of your claims, you might be believing an idea that originated from an extra-biblical source instead of from the Bible.
The Pope and Catholic Fear
I greatly appreciate the work that you do, and thank you for your time and attention to it.
I have a concern. My entire family is still Adventist; since the election of the new pope, they have been saying they are afraid the end times are nearer than ever. The Great Controversy teachings caused me great anxiety as a child, but I cant help but wonder if they are right. I spent 17 years in Adventist schools, and its hard to get away from those ideas and feelings. None of my current friends or spouse were raised Adventist, so they give me blank stares when I try to discuss my concerns. Do other denominations view Catholics with such fear and animosity? Could you perhaps do an issue addressing these concerns?
Thank you for your time & attention.

Response:
I understand what you are saying. No, other Christian denominations do not view the pope with the same kind of fear that Adventists have, although most do hold him to be the head of a false religion. EGW has created a scenario which includes Sabbath-keepers being persecuted for their Sabbath by the influence of the Pope whom they call the antichrist.
In fact, we do not know who the antichrist will be—nor do we know whether he will be a pope or not. Ellen White has seriously misused Revelation and Daniel. Those books are greatly reassuring when read in context. Adventists have misinterpreted them so badly that Adventists are afraid even to read them. She has effectively caused Adventists to fear the parts of the Bible that reassure us that God is in control and is caring for His people.
I strongly recommend that you take the time to listen to our Former Adventist Podcast series on Daniel and then on Revelation. You will see how different those books are and how reassuring they are, and they teach something VERY different from Adventism. I believe they will help you talk to your family.
Here is a link to the Daniel series on our YouTube channel:

If you prefer to listen on a podcast server, the Daniel series begins with podcast number 167; the Revelation series begins with podcast number 202.
Please feel free to email with any questions. I pray the Lord will calm your heart and give you the strength to listen to these podcasts. I believe they will help you see very differently from the way Adventist taught us!
I Don’t Agree With “Adventist Equates Law with God”
The Lord Jesus Himself said, “The Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath” (Matt. 12:8).
If Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath, how can His followers reject it—the very commandment He wrote with His own finger (Exodus 31:18)?
To say the Sabbath is only for Israel ignores the Bible.
Genesis 2:3 shows God blessed and sanctified the seventh day at creation, before sin, before Israel.
Exodus 16 proves the Sabbath was already holy before Sinai—God gave no manna on the Sabbath and punished those who violated it.
Exodus 20:8–11 grounds the command in creation, not ceremony.
Deuteronomy 5:15 adds redemption from slavery—a second layer, not a replacement. Yes, the word “Sabbath” doesn’t appear in Genesis, but the institution is clearly there. Gods seventh-day rest was an example, not for His own need, but for humanity’s blessing (Mark 2:27). He set it apart as a holy day—and holy means eternal purpose.
Rejecting or twisting the Sabbath is not “freedom in Christ”—it’s confusion. Revelation warns of Babylons wine—false teachings that lead many astray (Revelation 14:8, 18:4).
The early church still gathered on the Sabbath (Acts 13:42, 17:2), and there is no verse that abolishes the Sabbath or declares Sunday holy.
If the Sabbath was just ceremonial, why did Jesus honor it, even in His death (Luke 23:56)? Why does Isaiah 66:22–23 say all flesh will keep it in the new earth?
The law shows our need; the gospel gives the power to obey.
The Sabbath is not about salvation by works—its about resting in Gods completed work, just like Adam did on his first full day.
Jesus doesn’t set aside His own commandments—He writes them on our hearts (Hebrews 8:10).
Sabbath is not bondage—its freedom in Christ. To remove it is not liberty—its lawlessness.

Response by YouTube moderator, Jim Liley:
Christians believe that God is sovereign over everything. Which means He is Lord over all the days of the week.
Christians don’t elevate God’s finger over His spoken or written word.
No, to say the Sabbath day is for everyone, is twisting Scripture to say something it doesn’t.
The Sabbath in the scriptures can be used and seen for both a day of rest (24hr) or a type of a permanent, never-ending rest that is received from God when they become believers. The “church” (comprised from every nation, tribe and people) was never commanded or told that they needed to worship God on any particular day. The Christian church very early on, in the first century, gathered on the first day so as not to be included with a Jewish day of worship.
Can you name any nation or people group—other than Israel—commanded by God to observe the Sabbath? Can you name any nation or people group—other than Israel—that God punished for not observing the Sabbath?
Is there any command in the New Testament for anyone, post resurrection, to observe a day?
There was a Sabbath rest (the cessation of creating) but this was not a 24 hour period of time; it was a never-ending Sabbath. No more creating needed to be done. When reading the Bible we have to ask who, when, and why it was written. Is it a descriptive or prescriptive passage? For the Christian it would be a descriptive passage when God said to remember, understanding that “remember” can apply for past instruction as well as future application. There is an element of creation rest (cessation); also, God had given the Israelites an example when providing the manna six days and not on the seventh day. The Sabbath for the Christian is a type for the finished work of Christ—the anti-type. We as Christians enter into the never-ending Sabbath rest when we are born again. The person of Christ is our Sabbath, not a day given to Israel when in the desert.
Christians, are not rejecting or twisting the Sabbath. We put our faith and trust in the finished work of Christ which is true freedom. We reject the Adventist’s understanding of Revelation.
The early church gathered to where their fellow Jews were gathered to evangelize and share the gospel. The first believers were primarily converted Jews, so of course they witnessed to them where they were. It was never to worship with them as Jews. The Sabbath observers always rejected them. Christians gathered on the first day of the week to honor the risen Christ, not because Sunday was holy.
Jesus came to mankind as a Jewish man, and until He had fulfilled His mission by rising from death, of course He followed Jewish laws and tradition. After the resurrection, not once is it recorded in the Scriptures that He ever met with them on a Sabbath to worship.
Isaiah 66:22, 23 doesn’t say Sabbath will be kept in heaven! This is an Adventist perversion of Scripture. Adventists rarely if ever include verse 24. Isaiah 66:23-24 (LSB):
23 “And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to worship before Me,” says Yahweh. 24 “Then they will go forth and look On the corpses of the men Who have transgressed against Me. For their worm will not die And their fire will not be quenched; And they will be an object of contempt to all [c]mankind.”
There is no death in the new earth; this passage is describing the thousand -ear earthly kingdom where believers are coming to worship every day, not just on a Sabbath day.
Nowhere in the Scriptures does it say that the gospel gives power to obey the law. The gospel gives eternal life to all who believe.
God’s rest on the seventh-day at the end of creation week wasn’t to stop at the end of the day. It was to continue forever. When Adam sinned his rest ended. Now when we come to faith in the gospel of Christ, we have rest eternally because of what He has done.
The commandments written on our heart are not the “Ten”, they are Christ’s commands given while He was here on earth.
What is sad is all those who have been deceived into thinking that the Seventh-day Adventist counterfeit, pseudo-Christian organization has the truth. It is, however, their own unique understanding of A truth. Those in the Adventist counterfeit pseudo-Christian organization believe they and they alone have been given the God particle of biblical interpretation. †
