I Have Come to Know Jesus

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to reach out to express my heartfelt gratitude for the impact your podcast (Former Adventist Podcast) has had on my spiritual journey over the past year. Through your teachings, I have come to know Jesus as my King in a profound and transformative way. My Bible study has become deeply personal and enriching, as I am no longer relying solely on the interpretations of others.

I am incredibly thankful for the guidance and inspiration you have provided. One day, I hope to attend the annual conference in America and meet you all in person.

Though I was not raised Adventist, my journey has been significantly impacted by the Adventist faith, and I continue to pray for my husband, who remains firmly rooted in it. Recently, he has begun reading the KJV Bible instead of his Ellen White Commentary Bible, which I see as a positive step. While we still face challenges, we are now praying and studying the Bible together, which is a great encouragement.

I am currently transitioning out of the Adventist church and have started attending a Sunday church. I am slowly reducing my responsibilities in the Adventist church, trusting in God’s timing and the path He has laid out for me. I truly believe that my time in the SDA church has played a crucial role in my understanding of Jesus and the Bible, and I do not regret it.

I have one request: my husband, like Nikki’s husband, is not an avid reader. I am looking for an audio version of Dale Ratzlaff’s book, Truth Led Me Out, as it would be a valuable resource for him. Could you please guide me on where I might find this book in audio format for purchase?

Also, I’m sure you’re aware of it, but I have recently come across a book titled Letters to the Churches by Elder M L Andreason which my husband brought home (but hasn’t started reading) from the church. I’ve recently read it myself online, and I found it, despite the author’s fundamental Adventist stance, to be quite revealing of the unfaithfulness of Adventist leadership—the secrecy and lies they promote. I wonder what your thoughts are and if you think this book will be helpful for people leaving Adventism. I believe God will help my husband to pick it up at the right time for him, and it will be useful.

Thank you once again to the entire FAF team for your dedication and support. Your work has made a significant difference in my life.

Response: Thank you so much for writing. I understand your saying that your time in Adventism has played a crucial role in your understanding of Jesus and the Bible. I have often reflected that, if I hadn’t had to work my way out of a deceptive religion, I might never have dived so deeply into studying Scripture. In order to de-tangle my worldview, I had to immerse myself in what the Bible said far more deeply than if I merely signed onto a set of theological beliefs.

First, I am not certain where we can obtain an audio copy of this book at this time. We are still working with Dale’s widow to finalize the details about how to handle the sale and accessibility of his books. We will update you all when we have arrived at a solution.

As far as the Andreason book is concerned—I have not read it myself, but I do know that he had serious issues with the Adventist organization. He encountered manipulation and duplicity before he died, and he found himself marginalized and cut off from the influence he once enjoyed. Andreason was a true EGW-believer, and he opposed the stance of many leaders of the mid-20th century who were trying to move away from a rigid EGW-influenced theology toward something more nearly like evangelicalism.

I believe that perhaps a better option for your husband might be our article recounting the deliberate deception of the Adventist leaders who spoke with Walter Martin in the mid-50s and deceived him regarding Adventism’s belief in an unfinished atonement and the sinful nature of Christ. This account reflects events that occurred during Andreason’s time as a leader in Adventism:

FAF Channel Deepens My Bible Study

I am glad for every Adventist who has come away from Adventism and found the correct interpretation of the PURE Word of God as it is in the Bible. The title of this podcast caught my attention as I have stated on other platforms that Adventism’s beliefs makes LIARS—seriously—out of God the Father, the Prophets, Jesus Christ, and His Apostles; and in that, Adventism totally undermines the Bible. I’d heard Adventism’s belief that they are “spiritual Israel” from an Adventist neighbor at one of our neighborhood Bible Studies.

I kept this idea in mind, but as I continued with my own personal studies, I saw no basis for that belief.  I liked what was said about Israel being the foundation for the church in the same way that the Old Testament is the foundation for the New Testament. Jesus continually referenced. The Old Testament as He taught. Sound Biblical doctrine, for me, is to learn from the history of Israel in the Old Testament but to follow Jesus’ Gospel in the New Testament.

Although I’ve never been Adventist, I like viewing this Former Adventist channel on YouTube, for it confirms what I’ve already learned from just reading the Bible—and since your expositions are usually more in-depth, I continue to learn more and more.

But sadly, what Adventism continues to do, just as EGW did as reflected in her voluminous writings, is to POLLUTE the Word of God. EGW skillfully and cunningly enveloped her LIES with truths from the Bible which can’t be easily discerned except with help from the Holy Spirit to those—still in Adventism—who are seeking the Truth.

Blessings to all those who have found—and will find the Truth of God’s Word.
