I Need Fellowship
Are there any groups near Keene, Texas, that meet? I feel alone; I’ve been going to Bible churches, and I definitely felt the freedom, after just watching more of your Youtube videos, to go now to an FAF group and not feel like a traitor I will continue to follow the Word of God.
Thank you again for your ministry.

Response: We do not know of a group near you where you can meet. What I can offer you is to join us on Friday evenings at 7:00 Pacific Time for our weekly FAF Bible studies. We have people from many different locations and time zones with us every week via Zoom, and if you would like to join us, just email FormerAdventist@gmail.com and request a zoom link for the Friday FAF Bible study! You would be welcome and able to ask questions or just participate in our discussions and studies.
I also suggest that, if you have not been doing so, you listen to the Former Adventist Podcasts. I believe they will help you understand the contrast between Adventism and the Bible and will help you become grounded in biblical reality. The Lord Jesus will not fail you nor drop you. As we realize who He is and see that He has done everything necessary for our salvation and that all we do is repent of our sin and believe and trust His finished work, He gives us new spiritual life and teaches us Himself from His word.
I pray that you will become grounded deeply in the truth and reality of Scripture and that you will know the Lord Jesus.
The Priesthood Matters!
The importance of understanding the differences between a Levitical priest and a priest in the order of Melchizedek cannot be understated for people coming out or questioning Adventism! Jesus is our high priest, forever making intercession for us. This is why born-again Christians have that JOY. We know just how wonderful and incredible our Savior truly is.
When I was in Adventism, I was never joyful or happy. I was always worried about following the right rules, and stressing out about getting everything done before the sunset on Friday, and Sabbath was just a day to go to church (where I didn’t get spiritually fed), and then we just usually fell asleep at home or watched movies.
Yes, that was rule breaking—and there was NO JOY. Adventism was all work and no relationship with Jesus. We thought we had to be good to earn our way (and at the same time we still claimed Jesus was our Savior, but we weren’t sure how). Oh, thank you, Jesus, for showing me the way out!
Thank you ladies for another amazing discussion. God bless.

Tears and The True Gospel
Yes!!! The Holy Spirit is the Seal ! Thank you again, ladies, for another wonderful, gospel and Holy Spirit-led discussion! I went to a non-denominational Christian church about a month ago, and I was holding back tears almost the whole time. The praise music, seeing people filled with joy and praising God with no fear of what they looked like (while I was so shy but managed to sway back and forth a bit—haha), hearing the pastor speak the Word of God so boldly—I could barely keep it together. I was skeptical at first—as we should be—but there was no mistaking the Holy Spirit was with us and we were sincerely worshipping our Savior.
At the end of the service there was an altar call to come pray with a prayer team leader, and I had a feeling that should go—a little pull on my heart—and I didn’t want to go up, but I knew I had to. So I went up to a woman at the front, and I told her I was coming out of a works-based religion, and I needed prayer—and the tears just started flowing.
Afterwards I said thank you, and I said, “I can’t believe I’m crying,” but she completely understood what I was going through and reassured me that all I need is Jesus. It was the most wonderful church experience I’ve ever had until that point. Now I understand why it never felt that way in an Adventist church—because I was under a false gospel, and the congregation was spiritually dead! Thank you Jesus.
